Catching Up

I feel bad that I haven't posted much this month but here's an attempt to catch up on what has been happening here during March. Seriously, what happened to March? We are anxiously waiting for the arrival of a special baby girl, which will probably lead to another absence from the blog, but who can resist a cute baby? Anyways, the family has been through some sickness and traveling but we are all home and well now. I have been doing some crafting, mostly crocheting. There are a few blankets I am working on for gifts. This one is similar to the last one.

We celebrated a few birthdays including our youngest nephew's 2nd birthday.

We spent Easter with some of Shane's family.

I started a quilt for Sydney, upon request.

And last but not least Sydney received her flower girl dress for Christine's wedding later this summer.

More updates and hopefully some finished projects to show you soon.

Yarn and another project

(Photo from Happy Handwork)

Well, the throw was so fun to make I decided to try another blanket. I just started one with Cotton Ease yarn and it is coming together nicely. I am trying to make the stripes a little wider this time around. Although I am not sure how I like it so far, I am eager to get a larger portion done. I promise to share a picture as soon as I am feeling a little better and have a little more finished.

On another yarn note, there is an awesome giveaway over at Happy Handwork. You should all go enter to try and win the beautiful Malabrigo yarn. Good luck!

Crocheted throw

I made this blue and cream throw for my brother and sister-in-law. Their birthdays are both in March and since they are moving to Washington in about 6 weeks I thought they could definitely use another blanket around the house. You received a little glimpse of it back here but here are a couple more pictures of the finished product. I used some of Vanna's Choice yarn and I was surprised how soft it ended up. I really like the texture of the finished blanket plus it is machine washable which is a big plus with two toddlers running around the house. I hope it gets good use in their new home.

Ellie's handmade gifts

We celebrated little baby Koop this past weekend. However, like usual, I forgot to take pictures of the finished blanket (crocheted) and the little onesies I made. Here is a little picture of the little onesies before they were sewn together and received their button eyes so you can sort of get the idea. I am really starting to love these little things. This is the introduction of the little owl appliqué too. I promise to try and remember to take pictures next time. :) I hope you like them. I am thinking of making some for sale on etsy....we will see.
