Works in Progress

Here are a few current projects I am working on with the crochet hooks. They are all various gifts so I won't share too much detail yet. I will try to remember to take pictures before giving them out to share with you.

A large ripple blanket in blue and cream

A Trip to Oma and Opa's

What do you do on a trip to Oma and Opa's house?

Play soccer outside with Autumn (Opa's puppy).

Cuddle with Autumn on the porch in the evening.

Eat out with family (minus Autumn because Mom insists that she can't come to the restaurant.)

Play with Autumn on a giant stuffed bear. (Note: no dogs were harmed during this picture.)

Go to a friend's first birthday party.

Even with Sydney getting sick she had a fantastic time visiting Oma and Opa.

I also wanted to congratulate my sister Cherilyn who is recently engaged. During this trip I helped my mom throw her an engagement party. Unfortunately Sydney was really sick the day of the party and so I don't have any pictures. :( I will try to get some from Mom and share soon.

Painting with Sydney

Sydney has really developed a love of painting. It is a rare day that she does not ask for some sort of painting project. Most days I let her watercolor; primarily because it is washable and stays pretty well contained on the table. We have started exploring other painting options and mediums though. It is fun to watch her experiment.

Recently we used fabric paint and tea towels from Ikea to make gifts for her Oma and Grandma's birthdays. I just cut sponges into shapes and let her dip them in a little bit of the fabric paint and then arrange them on the towels, inspired by this post. She used a leaf shape for one and a star shape for the other.

Today is just beautiful outside so I let her paint outside and make a mess. This is her first canvas and it is fun to see her painting out there through the kitchen window. At first she was timid but of course she quickly jumped in with both hands...literally.
